OLD STEVENSVILLE POST OFFICE

The construction date of this building is now known, but it appears on an 1877 map and served as the Stevensville Post Office for the first half of the 20th century. The government paid rent of $18.75 a month and the outlandish sum of $25 a year to heat the structure.

A variety of businesses occupied the small building (730 square feet) until it was acquired in 1997 by The Kent Island Heritage Society.

The Stevensville Post Office is open for touring on the 1st Saturday of the month from April through November. For more details call 410-604-2100.
